Show up to a meeting.
The single most impactful thing a regular resident can do is attend public meetings and sign up for comment. We'll tell you when meetings are happening, what's on the agenda, and what's important for the city to hear. You don't need to be an expert or an experienced public speaker. You just need to show up.

Live in your community. πŸ‘©β€πŸ¦ΌπŸšΆπŸ½β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ
Advocacy isn't just meetings and public comment. A lot of it is just how you choose to move through your neighborhood.

Say hi to the people you pass on the sidewalk. Take the bus when you can. Walk the distance if it's walkable. Hate the traffic during drop-off and school pick-up? Walk or roll to school instead. Organize a walk or ride with a neighbor. Let your kids ride their bikes to the park.

And when you're at a community meeting, a school board session, or a city hall hearing – speak up for things that make the neighborhood and city better for everyone, especially those who don't have the privilege of choosing to drive instead of walk in the rain, wait 30 minutes for an infrequent bus, or plan their daily existence on how to navigate city infrastructure that prioritizes cars over people.

Share your neighborhood.
Right now this group is focused on issues near Twin Lakes and things with citywide impact. If you want to organize around your own neighborhood or help citywide, let's talk! The goal is to build something that is grassroots led by those who live in our neighborhoods.

City Council Recap - 3/24/26

I attended this meeting to make a plea that the city act now after hearing about another kid being hit in the intersection of 19th Ave SW and SW Campus Dr. I only heard through scanner reports, but this would be the fourth child struck in that intersection since October
